Operations are in full swing in the City of Cape Town as the SAPS working closely with other law enforcement agencies stamp the authority of the state. The focus of these operations is to clamp down on contact crimes.
From 1 January until 30 June 2024 the City of Cape Town registered the following successes:
Total Firearms confiscated: 487
Murder: 633 suspects arrested
Attempted murder: 395 suspects arrested
Dangerous weapons: 5808 arrested
Dealing in drugs: 997 arrested
Drug possession: 25 857 arrested
Illegal dealing in liquor: 1 258 arrested
