The search for 57-year-old Ajith Durga (picture 3) who went missing on Wednesday (03/07/2024) continued throughout today (Friday).
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was contacted by Durga’s work colleagues after the white Toyota Hilux bakkie with Ganga Plumbers branding (picture 4) was recovered near Inanda Dam in Inanda – KZN. Durga was employed at the company as a driver. He is a resident of Reservoir Hills in Durban – KZN.
His vehicle tracking report indicated that the bakkie travelled from Springfield Park – KZN to Ntuzuma before being abandoned in Inanda – KZN. His wallet was located in the vehicle but his ATM cards were missing.
The RUSA R44 Helicopter conducted an extensive low level search of locations in Ntuzuma and Inanda while approximately forty seven (47) of his work colleagues conducted ground search yesterday (Thursday).
Today (Friday), Reaction Officers returned to Ntuzuma – KZN and interviewed several businesses and residents along the route the vehicle had travelled.
The search was unsuccessful but ongoing.
