Trapped man’s arm amputated in rescue mission in Ethekweni

A man’s armed with was ripped off at his shoulder and his body became entrapped in a block making machine in Redcliffe- Kwazulu Natal this afternoon.

Paramedics & Rescue Technicians from Netcare 911, Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) & the Ethekweni Fire Department freed the man after approx. ninety minutes.

Reaction Officers interviewed his colleagues who said that the noticed the man removing a stone from the conveyor belt. His arm was instantly ripped off & he became entrapped under the rollers.

The injured man was expedited to hospital in a critical condition.
