SAPS Vispol Activity in Partnership with Newlands CPF and Private Security

A joint operation was conducted on Wednesday, 28 August 2024, by SAPS, the Newlands Community Police Forum (CPF), and private security companies including ADT, KZN VIP, and One Stop. This operation focused on addressing the growing concerns around hotspots identified through community information, which are being used by vagrants and drug addicts.

The team conducted thorough searches in areas within Newlands East, Westrich, and Newlands West. During the search, drug paraphernalia and tools commonly used for theft were discovered. These findings highlight the importance of community vigilance and collaboration in keeping our neighbourhoods safe.

The operation commenced in the early hours of Wednesday morning, with members of SAPS, CPF, and private security actively inspecting and addressing the identified hotspots. The collective effort is a testament to our commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents.

We urge all community members to continue reporting any suspicious hotspots within your immediate areas. These could include abandoned houses, overgrown bushes, or any other locations that seem to be used for illicit activities. Your information is invaluable in our ongoing efforts to create a safer community.

Please reach out to the Newlands CPF or Newlands SAPS with any concerns or tipoffs. Together, we can make a difference.
