The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit Officers apprehended three foreign nationals for producing fraudulent passports in the Boksburg area.
Officers from EMPD Specialized Services while on patrol spotted three bikers on corner Trichardt and Leeupoort Road, upon approaching the threesome Officers interviewed the suspects who made it known to the Officers that they are Malawian Nationals working for a delivery company.
Officers than requested to see their passports which only two of them produced, the third suspect failed to produce any identification and was immediately placed under arrest Immigration services were summoned for further investigation.
Officers than inspected the passports of the other two and noticed something sinister on the documents, Immigration Officers were requested to inspect the documents and confirmed that the documents were fraudulent. The trio was immediately handcuffed and marched to Boksburg police station while the motorcycles were taken for safekeeping at the same police station.
The three facing charges of illegal immigrant in the country and fraud are expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrates Court soon.
