Whilst on routine patrol In the Earlsfield Area KZNVIP Officers noticed thick black smoke near one of the homes and went to investigate the veld area, as they approached two African Males burning Copper attempted to flee but were successfully taken down by KZNVIP.
Suspects were found in possession of thick Copper used in cables which are underground and belong to the Municipality valued more than R10000.
After a lengthy period of time the suspects were transported to the Newlands Police station where saps officials were unable to charge the suspects for being in possession of stolen goods and demanded a complainant, after hours of calling we managed to arrange Municipal officials to come to the station and open a criminal case.
The suspects have been arrested and detained.
