Female attacked and robbed after her car ran out of fuel in Lotusville

A 28-year-old female was attacked and robbed by a lone suspect after her vehicle ran out of fuel & stalled on the Umdloti Beach Road near the Testing Grounds in Verulam – KZN this afternoon.

The woman was travelling towards the a petrol station with intention to refuel when the vehicle stalled. Her 19 month old baby was seated in the vehicle.

A lone suspect approached the vehicle while the victim was using her mobile phone to call for help. The suspect smashed the window with a rock and demanded the woman’s phone and cash. He then fled on foot.

The woman suffered open wounds to her face.

The child was unharmed.
