The Seriti Community Trust Mining once again greatly examplufied good corporate citizenship by presenting the South African Police Service (SAPS) in the province with six vehicles today (13 September 2024) at a function that was held in Emalahleni.
The vehicles that were handed over today will be allocated to identified police stations and Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offences Units. The total value of bakkies donated is over R3.5 million.
This is part of the company’s contribution to crime prevention in the province.
The gesture will give impetus to the fight against GBVF while also increasing police visibility.
Mpumalanga MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Mr. Jackie Macie has welcomed the contribution saying this is a display of being responsible corporate citizen.
The MEC said the assistance of the company could not have come at a better time as the province has just released the Quarterly Crime Statistics. He emphasised that the timing was good as the war against is now intensifying.
He urged other companies to follow suit and emulate Seriti Group of Companies.
