Gadwin Van Peer Chetty is being sought for the murder of 75-year-old Gonaeel Nelson also known as Dougie.
On Wednesday (09/12/2020), Nelson departed from a friend’s residence in Unit 1, Chatsworth – KZN. His blue Hyundai Atos was recovered in a parking lot in Beatrice Street in Durban Central – KZN six days later.
Investigations led Police to Nelson’s body which was recovered dumped over the Umzinto River Bridge in Umzinto – KZN. He was shot in the head. His bank card and cellphone were stolen. Cash was withdrawn from his account in the days following the murder. Three suspects were sentenced at the Durban High Court for their involvement in Nelson’s murder & robbery. Chetty is the fourth accused. He evaded authorities and a Warrant Of Arrest has been issued for his capture.
