A 22 year old man was shot during a dispute over a female in Cottonlands – KZN during the early hours of this morning.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived on scene at approximately 03:19. Reaction Officers found that the victim had sustained a single gunshot wound to his left shoulder (picture 1). He explained that he was walking to his residence with his girlfriend when he was approached by a male known to him.
An argument ensued which ended in the suspect producing a firearm and discharging a single shot. He thereafter fled in an unknown direction. The dispute was allegedly related to the female, but details were not provided.
Reaction Officers conducted a search for the suspect, but no arrests were made.
