The Police in Nelspruit are investigating a horrific incident whereby a 34-year-old woman was fatally shot outside the gym in Nelspruit this morning, Wednesday, 20 November 2024 at about 05h30. From what has been gathered so far by the Police investigation, the female victim was a doctor by profession and was working at a public hospital. The motive for her killing is unknown at this stage.
The Police in Nelspruit as well as paramedics responded to a call and found the victim outside her car and she was unfortunately certified dead by medical personnel at the scene.
Though circumstances surrounding this tragic incident is still investigation, preliminary investigation by the Police indicates that the woman was reportedly shot whereby two suspects are being sought by the Police. Currently, no arrest has been made as yet, suspects are still at large.
Police call anyone who might have information that might lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) to contact the Nelspruit Detective Branch Commander, Colonel Thami Mkhaliphi on 082 408 9831 or the Crime Stop number 08600 10111. Alternatively, members of the public can send information via MYSAPSAPP. All received information will be treated as confidential as possible.
Meanwhile the Acting Provincial Commissioner of SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi has strongly condemned the senseless killing and reassured the public that the investigation team will leave no stone unturned to get those responsible behind bars. “The well formidable team of investigators is working around the clock to ensure that the perpetrators are swiftly brought to book, “said the General.
