The SAPS in Mpumalanga is currently conducting a search operation for a missing 61-year-old man, Mabanti Nimrod Mandlasi, who was reported missing from Masana Village in Bushbuckridge on 28 October 2024.
Following the report of his disappearance, the family, along with members of the community, initiated a search effort which unfortunately did not yield any positive results. Subsequently, the matter was reported to the Police in Bushbuckridge, prompting the launch of an official search operation.
Today, Monday 04 November 2024, a joint team comprising the K9 Unit, Visible Policing, and members from Detective Services, as well as the Search and Rescue team of the SAPS, were deployed to intensify the search efforts. Despite the collaborative efforts of law enforcement and the public, Mr. Mandlanti has not yet been located.
Earlier today (04 November 2024) the Police dog (K9) as well as Police members from Visible Policing, Detectives and the Search and Rescue team were hard at work in search for the said man, with a hope to find him alive. Be as it may, he has not yet been found.
Information gathered indicates that the missing man is known to go hunting often, and areas frequented by him for hunting have been thoroughly searched without success thus far. The Search and Rescue team of the SAPS remains committed to continuing the search with the hope of finding him alive.
We appeal to anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Mabanti Nimrod Mandlanti to come forward and assist in the search efforts. The SAPS, in collaboration with the community, will persist in the search for Mr. Mandlasi until he is found. Updates on the search operation will be provided as new information becomes available.
