The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) Tactical Response Unit responded to a complaint of a business robbery that occurred at a hair salon on Smit Street in Braamfontein on 07 November 2024.
Upon receiving the complaint, JMPD officers swiftly mobilized and tracked the suspect’s vehicle, a white Toyota Hi-Ace. A high-speed pursuit ensued, culminating in the successful apprehension of four suspects at the intersection of Smit and Simmons Streets.
During the arrest, a firearm with filed-off serial numbers and eight rounds of 9mm ammunition were recovered from the suspects.
The four suspects were arrested and detained at Hillbrow SAPS. The recovered vehicle was booked at the SAPS Aeroton pound for further verification.
