An Ethiopian national was shot during a business robbery in Cornubia – KZN.
Residents of a housing complex contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) and reported a shooting at a General Dealer situated in a shipping container. Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched and arrived on scene.
It was established that a suspect posing as a customer requested to purchase a six pack of 2 litre Coke. The victim opened the door to the shipping container to hand over the cooldrinks. He was shot in the leg by a second suspect.
The robbers then entered and stole an undisclosed amount of cash and a speed point machine. Some witnesses reported seeing the suspects fleeing in a silver VW Polo (registration unknown).
The injured male was transported privately to a medical facility prior to the arrival of First Responders.
