A single vehicle accident occurred on the R727 road in Bothaville, resulting in one person being injured.
The incident took place at approximately 12h50 on December 24, 2024. According to reports, the driver of a light motor vehicle (LMV) lost control, veered off the road, and entered a nearby field, damaging a fence in the process.
The patient, a middle-aged male, was treated on the scene by EMS personnel and was classified as P3, sustaining minor injuries. The patient was not transported to a hospital.
Emergency services, including Provincial Traffic, SAPS, and EMS, responded to the scene to assist with the incident. A rescue team and towing service were also dispatched.
Fortunately, the incident did not result in any significant disruptions to traffic flow, and both lanes of the road remained open. Motorists are reminded to exercise caution when traveling on the roads, especially during the festive season, and to adhere to road safety guidelines to prevent such incidents.
