At approximately 18h00 on Friday night, Ensure Security’s National Operations Centre was alerted to a shooting incident near the Blue Lagoon area off Athlone Drive, Durban.
Multiple emergency service agencies responded to the scene.
Two men were found with serious injuries and were treated and stabilized on scene by Emergency Care Practitioners before being taken by ambulances to nearby hospitals for further medical care.
A male believed to be approximately forty years of age, was found to have sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was declared dead on arrival of paramedics.
Information ascertained on the scene alleged that the men were celebrating finishing work for the year, when an altercation broke out, resulting in an exchange of gun fire.
The South African Police Services were in attendance and will be conducting the necessary investigation accordingly.
