Efforts to fight gang violence and confiscate firearms in the Delft policing precinct led to the arrest of a 14-year-old boy for the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition in the early hours of Friday morning, 06 December 2024.
Members of the Anti-Gang Unit conducted an intelligence driven operation at a premises in Pungue Street, Delft and ensued with a search of the identified premises. Members have confiscated a firearm with five rounds of ammunition which was hidden in a blue back pack under the bed in the bedroom.
The suspect will appear in the Bellville Magistrates’ court today on the mentioned charges.
