Police in Elukwatini are investigating an inquest case after human remains were discovered at Tjakastad (kaMalahleka), near Elukwatini.
According to reports, on 21 January 2025, at approximately 16:30, police received a call from an Induna (Headman) of the area, who informed them that a Herder (Umalusi) had come across human remains.
Upon arrival, police discovered what appeared to be a human skull and a detached torso. Only the right arm was present, but the hand/palm was missing. The left arm and both legs were not located at the scene.
Police are urging members of the community to assist with any information that could help identify the remains or provide insight into what may have occurred.
Anyone who has a missing family member is encouraged to report to the nearest police station immediately. There is no waiting period for reporting a missing person-family members should report as soon as they realize someone is missing or suspect that something may have happened to them.
