Lejweleputswa District, Free State – A motor vehicle accident occurred on the road between Ventersburg and Virginia, approximately 7 kilometers from Ventersburg, on January 5, 2025, at 19:27.
A light motor vehicle (LMV) hit a pothole, lost control, and overturned. Six people were injured in the accident, including one child. One person sustained severe injuries, one person had moderate injuries, and four people had minor injuries.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to the scene and transported five patients to Katlehong Hospital and RH Matjhabeng. One patient was treated on the scene.
Provincial Traffic, SAPS, and EMS personnel were on the scene to assist. A towing service was required to remove the damaged vehicle.
Fortunately, the accident did not cause any significant disruptions to traffic, with both lanes remaining open for traffic flow. There were no reports of road closures or fuel spills.
