Man killed during birthday celebration in Inanda

A 32 year old man was killed during his birthday celebration in Inanda – KZN.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call for assistance from the deceased’s family in Etafuleni at approximately 06:14.

Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched and on arrival, found the man in the yard. His clothing was blood soaked. He sustained a fatal stab wound to his chest. A kitchen knife was located next to his body.

According to his family, the deceased’s birthday was on Friday. His friends threw him a surprise party on Sunday. The group of friends continued consuming alcohol and partying till this morning (Wednesday).

At some during the celebration, the deceased and the homeowner began arguing. The suspect produced a knife and stabbed the man to death.

The victim’s family arrived shortly thereafter and began interrogating the four men and two females who were in the residence at the time of the incident. The suspect confirmed that he stabbed the deceased, but did not provide a motive.

He was placed under arrest by Police and detained at Inanda SAPS.
