On Friday 07 February 2025 ,the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Thembisa Precinct Officers and Intervention unit Officers, intercepted a thirty-one(31) year old male suspect in the Thembisa area.
Officers were conducting crime prevention duties ,when they stopped a White Nissan Qashqai which was driven by a male. The driver of the vehicle was seemed uneasy, which prompted officers to searched the vehicle. A black plastic was found in the back seat which contained illegal substance (crystal meth) weighted at 2,1kg.
He was immediately placed under arrest and detained at Olifansfontein Police station, facing charges of possession and possible dealing in illegal substance. He is expected to appear at the Thembisa Magistrate’s court soon.
