The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Zonkezizwe Precinct Officers, arrested a thirty-two-year-old male in the Zonkezizwe area.
While Officers were conducting law enforcement on Thutong road, in the Katlehong area, a blue VW Polo with four male occupants was stopped. A search was conducted, were an unlicensed firearm with a defaced serial number and nine live ammunition was found on the driver. The driver was also tested for alcohol, as the Officers could smell alcohol from the driver and the test came back positive.
The suspect was arrested and detained at Katlehong Police Station, facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of unlicensed firearm. He is expected to appear at the Palmridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
