The Durban Metro Police Service Strike Team conducted Operation Overland in the Clairwood South region, targeting non-compliant and unsafe vehicles to enhance road safety.
A total of 123 vehicles were charged for overloading, along with 27 for number plate violations, 19 unlicensed vehicles, 17 seatbelt violations, 17 obstruction offenses, 16 unsafe tyres, and multiple other infractions, including cracked windscreens, faulty suspensions, and driving on sidewalks.
Officers also issued penalties for unlicensed drivers, missing operator cards, and PrDPs, with 15 vehicles suspended from public roads due to serious defects.
