A 21-year-old man was repeatedly stabbed after he attempted to defend himself against a lone robbery suspect in Temple Valley – KZN.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the scene at approximately 08:07. On arrival, the victim was found lying on a pavement bleeding from stab wounds to his back and left leg.
The male informed Reaction Officers that he was walking along Valley View Drive when he was accosted by a lone suspect who produced a firearm and demanded his valuables. The victim fled, but surrendered after the suspect fired shots.
The suspect produced a knife as he drew closer to the victim. The injured male attempted to defend himself, but was repeatedly stabbed. The robber thereafter fled empty handed. It is believed that the firearm used was a replica, but this could not be immediately confirmed.
The injured male was treated for his injuries before being expedited to hospital by ambulance.
