In the early hours of Monday morning, 24 March 2025, members of the Anti-Gang Unit (AGU), led by the shift commander, were conducting follow-up operations in Ennerdale Extension 3 concerning a suspect linked to a murder investigation. During this operation, critical information was received regarding a residence suspected of selling drugs.
Acting swiftly, the AGU team proceeded to a house located on Socrates Street, Ennerdale Extension 3. Upon arrival, they identified the property and requested permission to conduct a search, which was granted by the occupants.
During a thorough search of the premises, the AGU team discovered a significant amount of over 7,000 tablets suspected to be Mandrax, with an estimated street value of three-hundred and twenty thousand rand (R320, 000).
Both occupants found on the premises, a male and a female, were informed of their arrest and transported to a local police station for detention. They will soon appear in their respective court for the drug-related allegations.
This operation underscores the AGU’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of our communities by actively targeting and dismantling illegal drug activities that contribute to crime.
