Region G Operations officers spotted a suspicious silver Ford Ranger near Rietfontein Fire Station in Lenasia. When signalled to stop, the vehicle fled. After a short pursuit, the vehicle was stopped at Golden Highway near Olifantsvlei Cemetery.
2 individuals were apprehended with a blank gun and 3 rounds.
Even seemingly harmless items like these can be used for nefarious purposes. The apprehended duo was taken to Eldorado Park Police Station. Vehicle check complete – not stolen, but the owner was contacted, and he was surprised to learn that his vehicle had gone for an unauthorized joyride.
