On Monday 17 March 2025 at 08:00, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) North Task Team Officers, arrested one (1) suspect in the Rabie Ridge area.
While conducting crime prevention on Modderfontein road, Officers spotted a Silver Hyundai Getz with no front registration plate, members stopped the vehicle and conducted a systematic check, when they noticed that the licence disc does not correspond with registration plate affixed to the rear.
An enquiry on the registration plate was conducted and the information came back as a Toyota Tazz with a Case number from Ivory Police Station.
The thirty-one (31) year old male suspect was immediately arrested and detained at Rabie Ridge Police station, facing charges of possession of hi-jacked vehicle and he is expected to appear in the Thembisa magistrate court soon.
