The Operation Vala uMgodi Combat Team in the Free State acted on a TipOff regarding illegal mining activities.
Operators proceeded to a targeted unit in G-Hostel, Thabong Ext 4, where a search led to the discovery of 10 gold-bearing amalgam nuggets inside a safe, along with cash, suspected to be proceeds from illegal gold trade.
Suspects responsible will appear in court.
