Zamiso Otto Ngcobo, a thirty-three (33) year-old lifeguard, was shot dead this morning (Monday) in Area 1 in Bester – KZN whilst on route to work.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Phoenix Operations Center received the call for assistance at 08:50 am. Upon Arrival Paramedics & Reaction Officers found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds to his body. He was declared deceased. Spent 9mm cartridges were found on scene. Suspect details & motive has not been established. According to family, the victim is usually in possession of a licensed handgun. It could not be confirmed of the firearm was taken.
Ngcobo is employed by the Municpality as Life Guard & based at a swimming pool in Kwa Mashu – KZN.
