As part of the ongoing Safer Easter Festive Season operations, a successful cross-border roadblock was conducted on the border between the Free State and Northern Cape near Petrusburg and Kimberley.
The operation was attended by District Commissioner Brigadier Sereetsi, alongside external role players including SAPS members, Free State and Northern Cape Traffic Departments, and Road Safety officials.
During the roadblock, 326 vehicles were stopped and checked, 40 persons were screened and 752 individuals were searched. During the roadblock 31 traffic fines were issued.
These joint efforts aim to ensure the safety of all road users and to curb criminal activities during the festive season. SAPS remains committed to working with all stakeholders to keep our communities safe.
