Ensure Security Tactical Response Teams are currently in attendance of a shooting incident which has occurred near a popular fast food restaurant in West Street in the Durban Central Business District.
Reports from the scene suggest that a male suspect armed with a firearm, attempted to rob a female pedestrian who produced a firearm, firing in self defense of the suspect.
The man fled the scene. It is unknown if he sustained any injuries.
The South African Police Services are in attendance and will be conducting the necessary investigations accordingly.
