The ongoing Operation Vala Umgodi activated across the districts in the Limpopo province led to the arrest of six suspects for charges of contravention of immigration laws, fraud and bribery, on 24 April 2025.
The members of Operation Vala Umgodi arrested two suspects aged 34 and 37 for contravention of immigration laws and fraud. Both suspects were found in possession of fraudulent asylum documents. In a related matter, one male aged 38 was then arrested for bribery after he offered the Police an amount of R2000-00 for his brother’s release. A case of bribery was registered against him.
Moreover, in Vhembe District, the Police arrested three suspects aged between 31 and 39 also for contravention of immigration laws.
The suspects will soon appear before the local Magistrate’s Court.
The Police investigations are continuing.
