On Wednesday 23 April 2025, at 15:30 the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Intervention Unit Officers, in conjunction with other law enforcement agencies recovered a Blue Ford Ranger pick-up bakkie, on the R554 and Heidelberg Road in the Boksburg area.
While performing law enforcement duties in the Boksburg area, Officers acted on a tip off and recovered a blue Ford Ranger bakkie. Upon arrival at R554 and Heidelberg Road found the abandoned vehicle matching the description with no occupant and slightly stripped and affixed with false registration plates. Officers proceeded to conduct a systems check which came back positive as theft.
All role players were summoned to the scene for further investigation while the vehicle was booked at Aeroton pound.
