Members of Operation Vala Umgodi in Limpopo nabbed two suspects aged 31 and 50 for illegal mining of suspected precious minerals on Saturday, 26 April 2025 at Hlaneki Village in Giyani Policing area.
The team conducted operation at the area, and during the patrols, they noticed suspicious illegal mining activities. They tactically approached the sites, which led to the arrest of two suspects who were found mining illegally at separate spots. They were immediately arrested for illegal mining of suspected precious minerals.
During the arrest Police confiscated 03x shovels, 02x pickaxes, 01x spade, and suspected precious minerals.
The suspects will soon appear before the Giyani Magistrate’s Court.
