Efforts to restore calm and to maintain law and order in the Lwandle policing precinct led to the arrests of suspects for dealing in liquor without a license and the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
Meanwhile, the same members searched another premises in Lwandle and arrested an adult male when he was found in possession of 11 rounds of ammunition. He faces a charge for the illegal possession of ammunition.
Members of Lwandle Crime Prevention Unit followed up information of a suspect who is wanted for attempted murder in Lwandle. They searched the identified premises and arrested an adult male. A further search of the premises led to the discovery of a 9mm pistol with ammunition. He was arrested for the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition and attempted murder.
Furthermore, an adult male was arrested for dealing in liquor without a license when police members searched his premises. He could not produce a license to sell liquor and was subsequently arrested.
The suspects will appear in the Strand Magistrates’ Court once they have been charged.
