A suspect was killed while fleeing the scene of a robbery in Verulam – KZN today (Monday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to the north bound lane of the R102 in Verulam – KZN after receiving reports of a pedestrian/vehicular accident. On arrival at approximately 16:07, a man who suffered poly trauma injuries was located on the side of the road. He showed no signs of life and was pronounced deceased by Paramedics.
It was established that he and an accomplice robbed two (2) males of their cellphones near Southridge Circle in Southridge – KZN. The victims pursued the robbers onto the R102. One (1) of the suspects was struck by a white Ford Batam bakkie on the north bound lane while attempting to make his getaway.
A kitchen knife and the victims cellphones were located next to his body.
