On Wednesday 21 May 2025, Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Community Liaison Unit (CLU) Officers, arrested two(2) male suspects in Tsakane and Langaville areas.
Following on information from crime intelligence, about an individual said to be in possession of unlicensed firearms, terrorising the community by committing robberies around the area. Officers proceeded to a residence on Khotavhushika street, where a thirty-one (31) year old male was found in the vicinity. Upon conducting a search, Officers discovered two(2) black unlicensed firearms, identity documents and bank cards which the suspect could not account for.
Meanwhile, in Langaville Extension 3, Tsakane, Officers cornered a twenty-three(23) year-old male suspect. Upon arrival Officers conducted a search and found the suspect in possession of a silver unlicensed firearm.
Both suspects were arrested and detained at the Tsakane Police Station, facing charges of possession of unlicensed firearms. They are expected to appear at the Tsakane Magistrate’s Court soon.
