Just before 12:00 the Volunteer Emergency Medical Response Unit received a call for a serious motor vehicle accident involving a truck on Garsfontein road in Constantiapark. On arrival we found a truck and a vehicle collided head-on forcing the vehicle through concrete construction barriers. One patient sustained serious injuries and was entrapped in the vehicle, City of Tshwane
Firefighters had to use specialized hydrolic equipment (Jaws of life) to free the patient. Once stabilized the patient was transported to a nearby hospital under Advanced Life Support care. 2 more patients were assessed on scene before being transported to hospital with minor injuries.
TMPD and SAPS were on scene to assist with traffic and investigate the accident.
