From Dreamer to Doer: My Journey from Intern to Brand Coordinator at Supa Quick

Mathapelo Motaung is a vibrant and driven young professional who has grown from a quiet, curious intern into a confident Brand Coordinator at Supa Quick, part of the Bridgestone South Africa family.

A BCom Marketing graduate, she joined the organisation in June 2020 as part of a graduate programme, stepping into the fast-paced world of retail marketing.

Initially shy and unsure, Mathapelo found her confidence through mentorship and real-world experience. Working closely with the Supa Quick brand, she quickly progressed from supporting day-to-day marketing efforts to leading impactful projects like the Wheel Well Car Seat Collection Drive, Youth Day campaigns, and the Mandela Day Schoolbag Drive.

Her role has since evolved to include coordinating national campaigns, engaging with franchise teams, and even stepping up to present on behalf of her manager. Her journey reflects not only her professional development but also her belief in purpose-driven work and youth empowerment.

Despite following a marketing path, Mathapelo hasn’t lost the dreamer in her having once dreamed of being on radio, a moment she fulfilled when interviewed on YFM. Her story is one of resilience, growth, and proof that with passion and determination, young people can turn opportunities into powerful platforms for change.
