A man was shot and killed during a robbery on Jabu Ngcobo Road in Inanda – KZN today (Saturday).
A motorist contacted the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations at approximately 09:52 requesting assistance for a pedestrian who was being assaulted with pipes by two (2) men. The suspects fled with the pedestrian’s backpack when they noticed the motorist stopping. The caller was unaware that the victim had been shot.
Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched and requested Emergency Medical Services (EMS) after they established that the male was unresponsive. The man was declared deceased on arrival of Paramedics. He sustained a single gunshot wound to his back which exited his chest. His identity was not immediately established.
Reaction Officers conducted an extensive search for the suspects, but no arrests were made.
