The Police are investigating an incident after two men, aged 26 and 37, were fatally shot at Acornhoek on Tuesday, 10 June 2025.
According to a report at police disposal, members of the SAPS received information about a shooting incident at a shack near a railway line in the Acornhoek area. Upon arrival at the scene, they discovered a body of a male person lying on the ground, with multiple gunshot wounds. Members also got information that another man believed to be a friend to the one found with injuries. The details indicated that he was shot as well and then transported to a local hospital.
Preliminary investigation revealed that five armed men are said to have stormed into the shack where the two victims were in, and reportedly fired shots before they fled the scene, using an Audi as well as a Toyota Fortuner.
Medical Emergency Personnel were called to the scene, and one of the men was certified dead, while the other one succumbed to his injuries on his way to the hospital.
The motive behind the killing is not known at this stage, and circumstances surrounding this incident will form part of Police’s ongoing investigation.
No one has been arrested as yet, and police are appealing to anyone with information that may assist in the arrest of the suspects to contact the branch commander, detective Lieutenant Colonel Aaron Digoro on 082 318 9925.
