On Thursday 12 June 2025 at 09:50, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Community Liaison Unit (CLU) Officers, intercepted two (2) male and one (1) female suspects between the ages of twenty (20) and thirty (30) in the Germiston area.
Following on information received from a reliable source about two males and one female at Reef Shopping Centre with a white Opel Corsa, selling suspected stolen property. Officers acted on the information and proceeded to the identified location. It is alleged that the suspects offered the potential buyer a price of five thousand Rands (R5000) for the goods. Upon seeing the goods, the buyer realized something sinister with the price, as the goods were worth approximately fifty-five thousand Rands (R55 000), and immediately alerted law enforcement Officers.
The Officer approached the suspects, and upon questioning, they could not provide satisfactory answers for being in possession of the property. Officers immediately confiscated the suspected stolen property, as well as the white Opel Corsa that was used in the commission of a crime.
The trio was arrested and detained at Germiston Police Station, facing charges of possession of suspected stolen property. The he suspects are expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
