Currently in the Lindelani informal settlement, community members are protesting and have barricaded the roadways.
The violent protestors have thrown rocks at a EMPD vehicle and assaulted a uniformed Officer.
The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) condemns any acts of violence against police. Such threatening behaviour is unacceptable, and all perpetrators of violence will be brought to book.
