One man has been declared deceased following an attempted robbery incident that occurred in Woodview Park, Phoenix, at 12h20 PM, on 29 July 2025.
KZNVIP Response Officers were immediately dispatched after KZNVIP Control Centre received information regarding the incident.
Upon arrival, KZNVIP Reaction Officers established that an Indian male and female were walking through the park en route to their residence in Cornubia Flats, using the area as a shortcut. While passing through the park, the couple was approached by two unidentified suspects.
The suspects allegedly attempted to rob them of their personal belongings. During the confrontation, one suspect produced a knife and stabbed the male victim multiple times before both suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction.
KZNVIP Medical & Rescue teams responded to the incident. Tragically, due to the severity of the stab wounds, the male victim was declared deceased on scene.
The circumstances leading to the incident cannot be confirmed at this stage. A case has been opened with SAPS Phoenix and is currently under investigation. All necessary emergency services were in attendance.
