Female arrested in Britstown and drugs valued at over R750 000.00 removed from the streets

A swift and coordinated response by members of the De Aar Public Order Police, led to the arrest of a 43-year-old female in Britstown and the removal of drugs valued at over R750 000.00 from the streets.

Acting on intelligence received, police were alerted to a woman travelling by bus from Cape Town to Britstown, suspected of transporting drugs.

A description of both the suspect and the vehicle was circulated to law enforcement officers.

At approximately 03:40, police located a bus matching the description parked in Britstown. The suspect, who fit the provided description, was seen disembarking from the bus. Officers stopped and searched her luggage, where they discovered a significant quantity of mandrax tablets and a plastic bag containing tik, with an estimated street value of R750 600.00.

She was immediately arrested and is expected to appear in court soon.
