KZNVIP Control Centre received a report of a hijacking that had occurred at Pinedale Close, Newlands West on Saturday evening. KZN VIP Response Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, who reported that as he was arriving at his property, a white VW Polo sedan, with an unknown registration, pulled up behind him. Three unidentified male suspects, armed with firearms, exited the Polo and forcefully removed him from his vehicle.
While fleeing the scene with both vehicles, the suspects fired several shots into the air.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
