A man suspected of driving while under the influence of alcohol fled the scene of a collision on Buffelsdraai Road in Buffelsdraai – KZN during the early hours of this morning (Sunday).
The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations Centre received a call for assistance at approximately 00:09. On arrival, Reaction Officers established that the driver of a white Nissan Hardbody bakkie was travelling towards Redcliffe from Buffelsdraai when it collided into the side of a white BMW.
The BMW was proceeding in the opposite direction. The driver of the bakkie thereafter swerved and crashed into a concrete pole. He abandoned his vehicle and fled the scene.
The driver of the BMW was not injured.
