Police dog Adze tracks down one of 3 robbery suspects hiding in bushes

A seven-year-old, Belgian Shepherd police patrol dog, Adze showed diligence after tracking down one of three suspects, who was hiding in the bushes, following a robbery of spaza shop in Kenton-On-Sea on Sunday, 29 June 2025. The three men, Thamsanqa David (33), Alizwa Tsitsi (19), and Anele Tshukulana (25) briefly appeared in the Alexandria Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 1 July 2025 on charges of attempted murder and business robbery, and were remanded in custody. A matter was transferred to the Kenton-On-Sea magistrate’s court on Wednesday, 2 July 2025 for a bail application.

The three men were arrested for their alleged involvement in the robbery of a spaza shop in Marsellle on Sunday, 29 June 2025 around 09:30. It is said that the trio stormed into a spaza shop in Marseille. They allegedly shot and wounded the owner. It is believed that they then stole cash, and few other items before fleeing the scene.

Police and a private security company quickly responded, and managed to arrest two suspects not far away from the scene. The third suspect allegedly fled into the bushes. The police had to use the services of an off-duty four-legged officer, Adze. At the scene, Adze wasted no time – located and followed the scent trail of the suspect. A suspect was apprehended after being found hiding in a dense shrub. A backpack with cigarettes and a speed point machine was confiscated.
