SAPS and GCIS host awareness campaign in Kimberley CBD

The South African Police Service (SAPS) Provincial Corporate Communication, in partnership with the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) and supported by external stakeholders including CISCO, Community Development Workers, Women Against Crime, and the Shaine Griqua Advice Development Centre, conducted a public awareness campaign in the Kimberley Central Business District on Tuesday, 29 July 2025.

The team engaged with community members, business owners, and shoppers across key areas such as the Craven Taxi Rank, New Main Street, Phakamile Mabija Road, and Currey Street. Informational pamphlets were distributed to raise awareness and provide educational materials.

The campaign focused on critical social issues including Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF), Human Trafficking, Extortion, and general Crime Prevention Safety Tips.

SAPS in the Northern Cape remains committed to working collaboratively with stakeholders to educate the public and ensure communities are informed, feel safe, and are safe.
