On Sunday, 06 July 2025, the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) K9 Unit successfully recovered a stolen motorbike and arrested one suspect in the Johannesburg inner city.
While patrolling in the Johannesburg CBD officers received information regarding a stolen motorbike at Eloff Lofts. JMPD members proceeded to the specified address and gained access to the building.
Upon locating the room, officers found a male suspect in the process of stripping a white Big Boy motorbike. A check on the motorbike confirmed it was stolen, linked to the Norwood SAPS case.
The suspect, a Malawian National, was immediately placed under arrest and detained at Johannesburg Central SAPS, where he was charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle (motorbike).
The recovered motorbike was seized and booked in at the SAPS Aeroton vehicle pound for further processing.
